Vocabulary – Graphic Organizer

The English language is among the most voluminous of all languages, and this means that learning new words, expressions, idioms etc.will never run out of vocabulary words to learn and use. All forms of the written word—from fiction to journalism to essay writing to poetry—benefit from a strong vocabulary. To that end, the time spent improving the vocabulary skills is actually time invested in the writing. What is more, by learning new vocabulary, the speaking skills get more fluent. For that, this project was prepared with the intention students to improve these skills.

This project was accomplished with the 2º Intermediate Vocational Training course students and it was based in the following outline, even though I appreciated students’ creativity which was achieved successfully.

Outline

  • Chose a topic and put a picture (you can also describe what can you see in the picture).For example, I have chosen the topic of “Travelling”.
  • Explain what collocations are.
  • Put examples of collocations related to the topic you have chosen.

Homophones

  • Explain what homophones are.
  • Put examples of homophones related to the topic.

Phrasal verbs

  • Explain what phrasal verbs are.
  • Choose phrasal verbs related to the topic you have chosen

E-commerce- vocabulary

  • Make use of the specific vocabulary employed in the vocational subjects; But, remember that they have to do with the topic you have chosen.

Idioms

  • Explain what idioms are.
  • Choose idioms related to the topic you have chosen.
